POLYCYSTIC KIDNEY DISEASE (PKD)

Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a well documented abnormality in domestic cats and its an inherited kidney disease which has become common in Persian cats and Exotic Shorthairs, as well as British Shorthairs and Longhairs. PKD is not a new disease and has been reported in the literature for over 30 years. When the disease was first recognised the only practical way to identify the affected cats was by ultrasound scanning of the kidneys. We ensure that all our cats or kittens are tested as PKD negative.

HYPERTROPHIC CARDIOMYOPATHY (HCM)

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(HCM) is a disease in which the muscle walls of the heart thicken. In time, this condition leads to heart failure or other complications such as increased risk of the blockage of major blood vessels by blood clots. Heart failure causes increasing discomfort and malaise which can occur over a prolonged period and blockage of blood vessels causes severe pain. It is thought this condition is inherited in British shorthaired cats. Affected individuals can be identified using ultrasound scanning of the heart. All of our Catzillas are regularly checked to ensure they are free from this disease.

Our pedigree Catzillas are from different countries like China, Russia, and UK. But most of our Catzillas are from China, we will perform genetic test before they fly to Singapore. There is a QR code at the bottom left of each test, you may want to scan it to do an authenticity check.
